ICU Alumni & Friends Reception with President Junko Hibiya
On Friday, September 16th, the JICUF hosted an ICU alumni & friends reception in New York City to welcome President Junko Hibiya and Professor Heather Montgomery from Tokyo. The two guests from ICU were in the city to attend the JICUF’s semi-annual Board of Trustees meeting. The reception was held at Shinbashi restaurant in Midtown and was attended by approximately 80 alumni, friends, trustees and staff.
Among the alumni who came were Mr. Lawrence Tsuyuki (who created the hanko in the JICUF logo) and Mr. Tatsuo Nishimura from the first class, and Mr. Tatsuya Hayashi who just graduated this year. Alumni representing every decade were present.
Mr. Jun Kigoshi, President of the ICU Alumni Association, who happened to be in New York on business, also stopped by. Two current undergraduate students, Kohei Koyama and Nagiko Kaizu, both attending Rutgers University in New Jersey as exchange students this year, were excited to meet so many senpais. We were thrilled to meet alumni of ICU High School and Graduate School as well!
We would like to thank all those who came and made it a very special evening. Those who could not make it, we look forward to seeing you at our next event!
