ICU & ICUHS Joint Information Session
On Sunday, September 18th, the JICUF hosted an ICU and ICU High School Joint Information Session at the Interchurch Center, where our office is located. ICU President Junko Hibiya, who was in New York to attend the JICUF trustees meeting, gave a presentation about the university to an audience mostly comprised of prospective students and their families.
President Hibiya emphasized the benefits of a liberal arts education and ICU’s unique system which allows students to gain a broad knowledge in diverse fields before deciding on their majors at the end of the sophomore year.
After her presentation, Professor Heather Montgomery talked about ICU’s liberal arts education from a faculty’s perspective.
Following a Q&A session about the university and a short break, JICUF Director of Communications Aki Takada gave a presentation on ICU High School. Ms. Kaori Hara, Head Teacher and Director of the Returning Students Education Center at ICUHS, provided the presentation materials.
The session was well-attended with more than fifty participants. We would like to thank everyone who came!
