ICU President Junko Hibiya quoted in Foreign Affairs Article
ICU President Junko Hibiya was recently quoted in an article by Devin Stewart in Foreign Affairs, a publication of the Council on Foreign Relations. President Hibiya was interviewed late last year by Stewart, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, as part of his research into the changing role of women within Japanese society.
In the article, Abenomics Meets Womenomics, President Hibiya refers to some of the linguistic changes that she has noticed within Japanese society, and the way these changes reflect shifting gender roles. President Hibiya is ICU’s first female President and is one of only a handful of female university Presidents throughout Japan.
