On March 1, Sachiko Tokai joined the JICUF team as a Communications and Operations Associate. Having studied visual design at the Asagaya Art College in Tokyo, she spent two decades pursuing a creative career, first as an illustrator and designer, and later as a writer. She has written articles on art and culture for “Asahi Graph,” “Artpolitan,” and “Kateigaho” among others. After moving to New York in 2002, she continued to contribute articles for “Asahi Shimbun International,” “Japion,” and “Modern Living.” She is a founding member of the “Syukan NY Seikatsu” and continues to write for the paper. Sachiko has ten years of experience as a Senior Office Manager at Epoch Microelectronics, and a PR & Communications Manager at the Nippon Club.
With her extensive experience in both creative fields and office management, she will be a valuable asset to JICUF. Please join us in welcoming her!
Here is Sachiko in her own words.
“Hello, I’m Sachiko Tokai. I’ve been living in New York for more than twenty years. I hope to use all of my experiences in Japan and the US to contribute to JICUF’s work. I am meticulous in general, but can be a klutz at times. Happy to be part of the JICUF team and look forward to meeting you all!”
Happy to have you on board, Sachiko!
