Isabel Arredondo
Host Professor: Beverly Curran
Professor Beverly Curran received a grant for accommodation at Dialog House and daily expenses to invite Professor Isabel Arredondo as a Visiting Scholar from 6-22 January 2017 to give public and class lectures on film and to engage students in a research project on the Super 8 movement in Japan and interview filmmakers who used this technology. She proposes to take part in classes to talk about her project; discuss Super 8 in other cultural contexts; and discuss interview techniques. Students will help prepare questions for the filmmakers who will be invited for in-class interviews. This visit is sure to stimulate ICU student interest in research and creative work in film, women’s engagement with technology, and media translation.
