JICUF held its spring board meeting in Honolulu on Saturday, March 9th, at the East-West Center near the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Nine of the 11 JICUF board members and all four staff members were in attendance. From ICU, President Shoichiro Iwakiri, Vice President for International Academic Exchange Mark Williams, and Administrative Affairs Group staff Hideko Matsuyama participated from ICU. The meeting began with an opening address by David Janes, Chair of the JICUF Board, followed by a report from JICUF President and CEO Paul Hastings on ongoing projects, financial matters, and future directions. JICUF held its fall board meeting in New York on Saturday, September 9th. The night before the board meeting, JICUF hosted a reception at an Italian restaurant in Midtown for ICU alumni and friends. Approximately 70 people attended the reception, including ICU President Shoichiro Iwakiri, Vice President for International Academic Exchange Mark Williams, Managing Trustee Tetsuro Tomioka, ICU alumni living in or visiting New York, friends of JICUF, and JICUF trustees and staff.

On Friday, September 13th, JICUF will host a 70th Anniversary Dinner at Riverside Church in New York City. ICU alumnus Dr. Hirotaka Takeuchi (class of 1969), Professor of Harvard Business School, will give a talk. We hope many alumni and friends will join us!

On April 27th and 28th (Friday and Saturday), JICUF held its semiannual trustees meeting on the ICU campus. Nine JICUF trustees and four staff gathered on campus for an eventful two days.
