From Friday, January 20 to Sunday, January 22, JICUF hosted the first ever “ICU Student Weekend” in NYC for ICU students currently studying in the US through ICU’s exchange program. 22 students participated across the US from California to New Jersey.
ICU student Mariko Kawasaki was one of the recipients of the 2021 JICUF Study Abroad Scholarship last year. Mariko studied at the University of California, and has recently completed her study abroad program. We asked her some questions about her time at UC.
On October 21, JICUF Executive Director Paul Hastings presented an appeal to the Government of Japan to resume the issuance of visas to international students and researchers through Ambassador Kanji Yamanouchi of the Consulate General of Japan in New York. The appeal was signed by more than 650 university administrators, faculty, staff, other professionals and students around the world.
We are happy to announce that ICU student Mone Ikeda has been awarded the 2019 JICUF Study Abroad Scholarship earlier this month. Mone will study at the University of California from fall 2019. We recently interviewed Mone by e-mail.
