We are thrilled to announce Luke Takuya Palermo’s addition to the Japan ICU Foundation as our new Program Assistant. Luke’s job is to help the other full-time JICUF staff with tasks ranging from database management to article translation. We asked him to introduce himself.

JICUF Program Director Tara DeWorsop moved on from her work at the Japan ICU Foundation at the end of last month after a five-year tenure.
Dr. David W. Vikner retired as President of the Japan ICU Foundation this past August after 13 years of service. David’s career in global education spanned five decades and two continents, North America and Asia. He taught and worked in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and in New York City, where he spent the latter half of his career serving as the President of two significant organizations, the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia and the Japan ICU Foundation.

The following announcement is from Sam Shepherd, Chair of the Japan ICU Foundation’s Board of Trustees. I am pleased to announce that Paul Hastings was appointed as the organization’s new Executive Director and CEO as of September 1, 2015. Paul replaces David Vikner who retired as of August 31, 2015. Paul joined the staff of the Foundation in 2006 as Development Associate. In 2007 he was promoted to Director of Development and in 2012 to Vice President.
