In 2017, JICUF awarded Study Abroad Scholarships to five students with excellent academic standing. These students studied at ICU’s partner institutions in the United States and have recently returned to Japan. Three of the five students shared comments about their time in the U.S.
We are thrilled to announce that two Syrian Scholars Initiative (SSI) and two United States Scholars Initiative (USSI) recipients have been accepted by ICU and plan to matriculate in September 2018!

On September 1st, the Japan ICU Foundation will open applications for the United States Scholars Initiative (USSI) and the Study Abroad Scholarship (SAS). Both scholarships are part of our new Global Scholarships program, which also includes the Syrian Scholars Initiative and the Exchange Student Scholarship for incoming exchange students.
Yiyao Derek Ding is an junior student from Middlebury College, Vermont. He is studying at ICU for a year, and talked to us about his experiences so far.
